“Would the stuff also be familiar with tiredness?"

Ana Martins Marques draws me to the universe of lost objects. In the dictionary, to lose is:

• . to leave (something) somewhere by forgetfullness or distraction;

• . to use something poorly/to waste;

• . to let something escape;

• . confusion: to not know where it or oneself is.

In this series the objects become characters that some times mark the passage of time and other times indicate loosing due to bad usage - of the spaces or the objects themselves.

To fold is to mark the time during the folding of clothes. This series unfolds itself over the concept of the etymology of "plicas"(to fold, in english): to make various faces of a single thing. The displacement and transplant of space-folds and object-folds create a time-space confusion through the usage of physical collages.

This work was selected by the publishing house “Sô Edições” for composing the first mini-zine series with 10 different works of different artists. The collection was then selected by Zum Festival in 2022 and incorporated to the Instituto Moreira Salles - IMS library.
